Chapter 54 The Other Guy Who Loves Her

Paige's POV

"Noah, w-we had twins."

I can't read the expression on his face. I sucked my breath and swallowed hard, watching his reaction. He was just looking down at me, tongue-tied. His lips parted as his eyes watched me intently.

I squeezed my eyes closed. "Y-You divorced me. Y-You wanted a son. I was scared you'd take him away from me, so I hid the fact that we had twins and… and the other one is alive."

His hands started trembling until he fell on the floor, shaking. I cupped my mouth, watching him with tears. Oh, God! What have I done?

He looked down and his shoulders started shaking. Scared, I took a step back but he slowly lifted his arm as he looked up at me.

His eyes are begging. "H-Hold me, please… Hold me, please."

I kneeled in front of him and hugged him. He rested his forehead on my shoulder as he cried silently.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry for making you feel that way, Paige. I'm sorry…"

I shook my head. "I-I became selfish, Noah."

"Y-You did that because I hurt you so much."
