Luisa’s POVThe moment we got out of the car, flashes of cameras could hardly make me see the people waiting for us. I held onto Kingston’s hand and flash a smile to the camera. I wanted to look my best in the picture that would be posted online. I was getting used to the attention of the media.“Are you okay?” Kingston whispered in my ears. To everyone else, he might as well as kiss my cheeks. I nodded glad that he observed that I was a bit tense with everything going on, or it was just due to the fact that he knows I don’t do well with the press. After a few more pictures, the paparazzi gave us enough space to walk in. I looked right at where my mother was sitting and also at Jenny. I smiled at them as I moved. My eyes darted back to my mother and I observed I couldn’t see Chris. Suddenly, I felt sweat on my hands and my heartbeat increased times ten if that was possible. But, It was beating very fast. Maybe he was with his nanny; she was supposed to be in charge of him s
Luisa hover over me like a mother hen protecting her chick; she refused to go to her room or get any other thing done. Still, in her wedding dress, she stood beside me.“Who was that? Who sent that message to you?”I sighed knowing no matter what I said; she wasn’t going to calm down, if anything, she was going to be more furious with me. Just like I think it was my fault Chris got caught up in all of this, she was also going to think the same thing.Immediately, I got the message. I tried calling the number but it was not available. I forwarded the number to Seth and he claimed that the number was stolen. So, we were unable to get the real sender of the message. Yet, I felt as if I knew who sent it, but that wouldn’t ease Luisa’s mind right now.“What does the person want? Money? You have a lot of that, you can pay them, all I want is Chris. All I want is my baby?” She broke down and started crying again. I hated to see her cry. With every tear that fell from her beautiful eye
Luisa's POVI had no idea when I said those words to Kingston. I only came to realise it after the words already left my mouth, it was supposed to be said specially, not carelessly. Not as a passing word, but when I could carefully detect every emotion on his face while saying it. But, I had just said it casually as if I was announcing the time.Kingston carried me to the bed brushing my hair backwards. I know he was trying to make me feel at ease as if Chris was not somewhere missing. I closed my eyes trying to shut out every memory in the world and bringing back the memory of the first day I gave birth to Chris. My water broke while I was washing our laundry – mine and my grandmother's. I screamed, and before I knew it my grandmother was already beside me trying to calm me down. It was just us both in the house as I came to stay with her to avoid feeling bad for myself. I had pulled her grey hair with my hands while still screaming. I barely knew what was happening around m
The dungeon was cold and everywhere was black apart from the small light from my phone flashlight. I have never brought a woman to this place before, but my son’s nanny was breaking the record. The moment Seth found her, he called me and one of the guys went to get her immediately. She was already planning to run out of the country when she was caught, that was proof that she knew where Chris was. When I first received the call, I was reluctant to leave Luisa alone at home, but there was nothing I could do to bring back her smile apart from finding Chris. If it wasn’t for the fact that we were preventing the media from knowing, I would have gone all out and posted it on every news station. It would have been what was on everybody's faces every minute, but we wanted to keep it a secret. The Nanny looked rough and had blood on the side of her head. I guess the boys had done some torturing to her, yet she hadn’t said a single thing that would give us a clue as to where Chris was. I
Kingston’s POVI was going out of my mind. It had been a long time since I ever lose control like this, but the thought of not seeing Luisa or Chris was definitely driving me mad. I ran into Luisa's room, searching everywhere as if she had hidden in the cupboards or something. When I saw that there was nothing. I ran into the private room in the mansion to check the CCTV. I checked if any strange person came in while I was away. I saw Luisa walking out while holding something to her chest. She said something to one of the guards and after a while, the guard let her leave the mansion. She walked slowly without glancing back at the mansion. I tried to forward the CCTV to see if there was any part where she came back to the mansion, but there wasn’t. She had left home willingly. At that moment, I regretted not putting a tracker on her phone. It was a mad rush for me. I summoned the guard immediately to question him on his conversation with Luisa.“Madam said she wants to g
Luisa’s POV Dusty and rough; were the words that could perfectly define where I was. I grimaced and wondered how Chris had survived being here. My eyes were welled with fresh tears. As per Derek's instruction on the phone, I had put off my phone before entering the building, now I was just waiting on him to come and pick me up. I covered my nose with my hand to prevent more dust from gaining access to my nose, and my gaze moved around the apartment. They were spider webs at every corner of the building, the paint was faded, and there weren’t any appliances that would have qualified it as a habitable place. The more I moved, the more I felt the urge to throw up. If I could feel this way, I wondered how Chris must be feeling. A shuffling sound gained my attention, and I turned to see where the noise was coming from. The apartment was a freaking maze, and I couldn’t differentiate from one place to another until I heard a chuckle that brought my feet to a halt. “Look who is here
Kingston’s POVThe peace I felt started slipping away the moment I took in how silent the place was. No sign of life and no sound to make me feel at ease in any manner. It was dusty and definitely inhabitable. I followed the blue dot Seth had sent to me. My eyes narrowed as I saw something on the floor. I picked it up, dusted it, and frowned when I realized it was Luisa’s phone. Luisa was here.I picked up the phone and started searching the building. Jimmy and the stranger followed behind me. They could barely catch up with my speed and had to run after me. I moved fast but without noise. I didn’t want to alert anyone holding my family hostage. It would be better if I could catch them unaware. My heart filled with hope. The fact that Luisa’s phone was here meant one thing; she was here. The hope of seeing Luisa and Chris filled me with joy. I combed every room in the apartment and stopped in the last room. It was empty, meaning they already left there. I was too late
Luisa’s P.O.VThe air was strange; I could smell the sea and the sky looked like it would rain anytime soon. The weather was in line with my mood; sad. I pulled Chris closer to me. He was sleeping and had no idea what was going on with us. He looked so content where he was on my chest. Derek had worn a smile since we left the haunted building. I have no idea why he was so happy, but I had a feeling it had something to do with kidnapping us.“I feel like my life is just starting, Luisa.” He said looking at me. I force a grin and followed beside him. I didn’t utter a word, because I have no idea what will piss him off, and what will put him in a good mood. “I feel like I have everything I seek here. A woman I love, money to start a new life, and a son of my own. A family.”He has lost it so much, thinking we were his family. I nodded absently. He seemed so happy. “Where are we going to?” I dare to ask him. “Somewhere we will start our lives together. We will be very happy
