Forty Six

Mike was tired; he had been on his laptop since without break and now he was starting to miss all the time he had at hand while abroad. If he knew he was coming back home to excess work, he might have stayed abroad. The only bright thing about it all was Amelia. The thought of her being his wife always brought a smile to his face.

As if being summoned by his thought, Amelia walked in without knocking. There was something different about her; she was walking faster than usual and had a permanent scowl on her face.

Mike closed his laptop; it would be a nice time for him to take a break from work. After the inauguration, there was only going to be more work, as he would be officially introduced to all the executives of the company, and would start working hand in hand with them. Not that he was looking forward to any of them; he was more interested in family than work.
