Damien gazed at her astonished expression, and a small smile formed on his lips. "It looks like you're pleasantly surprised by this gesture."

Jane remained silent.

She was not surprised or happy, and definitely not content.

Anxious that someone might see her, she quickly entered the room and shut the door behind her.

Damien muttered to himself, "They say that having flowers in the room can lift one's spirits."

Jane's eyes landed on the coffee table, where she saw pink flowers and her favorite sunflowers.

She approached the bed, running her fingers over the petals which felt delicate to the touch.

She looked at Damien and inquired, "Did you purchase these?"

"Yes, it's my first time buying flowers. I wasn't sure if you would like them."

"I do. Sunflowers are my favorite."

Jane sensed something amiss.

First time buying flowers? She looked at him with surprise, wondering if he had never given flowers to a woman before.

Damien didn't seem to notice her expression and spoke considerately, "
