I sat on my couch watching TV with my little princess as Aunt Esperanza walked over and took her seat beside me.

"Are you sure you're making the right decision?" She asked, staring deep into my eyes. I knew what she meant by that. She was talking about Brown this time. She had supported my actions and audacity to disobey Don, but she feared that if he returned, things might get out of hand.

Brown had explained everything to him and he had tried calling me severally, but I never answered or returned his calls. I was trying to act strong, but deep down, I feared him. He was too powerful for me not to be scared.
