I lay on my bed, feeling reluctant to go for breakfast. I don't wanna see my uncle's face, not even Aunt Esperanza's. I thought she was on my side.

They fixed a date without even letting me know. I just rolled over in my bed, thinking. Just then, I heard a knock on the door.

"Mummy?" Christa called and opened the door. "Mummy, are you still sleeping?" She entered, holding a phone in her hands.

I gently got up with a smile on my face. She literally brightens my mood.

"I was… but not anymore, baby." I carried her up to my bed. I stared at her and memories from the hospital came flooding my mind.

"Um… honey? Listen, were you able to talk to a man in the hospital? - I mean, did you see someone asides the doctor in your room - the day you were injured?"

She looked up at me as if trying to think if she remembers. "Um... yes, mummy… he was the first person I saw."
