“I think the Doctor didn’t dress it properly”

As Eleanor sat on the couch, her injured foot propped up, she watched warily as Kayden knelt down before her, his gaze focused intently on the plaster cast encasing her leg.

"What are you doing?" she demanded, her voice tinged with apprehension as she instinctively drew her foot away from his reach.

"The plaster," he replied matter-of-factly, his tone betraying none of the frustration she sensed simmering beneath the surface. "It's coming loose. Let me fix it."

Eleanor's heart raced with panic as she resisted the urge to retreat further from his probing touch. She knew she couldn't allow him to discover the truth, not when her entire ruse depended on maintaining the illusion of her injury.
