I used to say I would work hard and graduate to make Mum proud. To at least get on the good side of her that she showed Kira. But seeing her at my graduation no longer aligned with my desires. The sickness in my heart wanted her gone.

She wore a nice black dress that fitted her well. But the woman behind the dress had a darker soul than the cloth. She used to scare me, but at that minute, I wanted to stand my foot.

The last time I saw her, she had me falling on my knees begging her. She kicked me out of her house like I was a filthy beggar. At least now I had friends who saw me as something more than just the girl she always hated.
