CHAPTER 40

Some nights take forever to pass while other feels like a switch turned on and off.

Sitting at a cafe alone, I sip the warm coffee, my mind wandering, I worked as usual , for the whole day, but Adrian didn’t even look at me not even once, which affects me more then I thought it would, that’s what I wanted right? him to leave me alone but then why does it feel so frustrating?

The chair beside me makes a noise as it slides before someone sits, “Jack.” he looked at me,smiling just like last night “You missed me?”

“Not at all.” I rolled my eyes, “I was just feeling guilty after last night.”

“I know a way you can take the guilt away.” he suggests and I raise my eyebrows at him.

“Let me take you somewhere, I know you will really like.”

“Where?” I asked him, but all he does is shrugs “That’s a surprise.”

“Okay.” his eyes lighten up with my answer making me chuckle, but the bruises on his face makes my heart skip a beat, it must have been hurt, the violence of his hand.
