Jojo sucked her nose's scarlet tip: "Remember what you promised me, William. You mentioned that when I'm older, you will marry me. I'll be an adult in no time. You have to keep your word!"

"Are you teaching me how to do things?" William asked, one palm propped up on his desk and his eagle eyes elevated slightly.

Jojo's breathing seemed a little labored.  "Remember that when you were a child and your life was on the line, my grandfather gave up his right arm to save yours. You would have perished a long time ago if it hadn't been for our  family."

"You want to set me aside and forget all your childhood vows now that you've grown up?"

When she finished speaking, William leaned out and, without looking at it, scooped up the food on the table and tossed it into the trash can.
