The next morning,

I was jolted awake by the throbbing pain in my head, feeling as though my head was being hammered from the inside. I groaned and rubbed my temples, trying to remember what happened the night before. Much to my bewilderment, my memory was hazy, and there were large blank spaces, blocking the events from my mind... I'm dressed in my PJs and wondered if Ethan took it upon himself to change my clothing.

I peeked at Ethan's side of the bed and he was not there. It looked like he slept next to me, as the bedsheets were clustered but was not there. I squinted my eyes at one of those expensive silver-dial desk clocks, and it was past six in the morning.

But where could Ethan have gone this early?

Suddenly the sickening smell of the wine I drank last night hung heavily in the air, making me queasy. I gagged a little in my mouth before running straight to the bathroom and throwing up in the sink.
