Chapter 54.2 "Night Together"

Eugene finished his dinner, washing his face, changing his clothes and going to bed. Alone in the room, he kept on tossing as he could not sleep.

He kept on hearing his father’s answer again and again inside his head.

[“That’s right. I like Jane. I like your mom.”]

Eugene frowned as he bit his lower lip. The ‘like’ he was talking about wasn't in the form of love, but a relationship between two persons. It has no other meaning.

The reason why Eugene asked this to his father is because he could tell that his dad likes his mom (as a person). However, when Eric said those words, Eugene felt like someone would really steal Jane away from him.

He wasn’t sure why he’s feeling this way. But if it is Eric, Eugene thinks there might be a huge chance.

“His life is different. It might be that ‘like’ I saw on television. And it always end with that.”
