CHAPTER FIFTY ONE

Ruby woke up, her heart pounding with anxiety as she realized that last night wasn't just a dream. Quickly grabbing her scattered clothes from the floor, she felt awkward and uneasy.

"Good morning," Stephan greeted with a warm smile, breaking the silence.

"Um… hey," she answered with a tense voice.

Noticing the unease on her face, Stephan got up slightly from the bed while using his elbow as support. “Is everything all right?” he asked tenderly.

"Oh, yeah, everything is perfect," Ruby replied quickly, her mind darting here and there. She hastily left Stephan’s room and headed to her room before he could ask more questions. Stephan sat on the bed feeling lost and confused at the same time.
