The grains of sand beneath them seemed to echo his sentiments, supporting their weight as they sat side by side, the world's gentle cradle.

"Yes, Nelson," Maiari began, her voice growing stronger, "I know. I faced this head-on, and I never turned my back on it, nor did I see it as a hindrance or problem."

Nelson nodded, his gaze never leaving hers. The sky above was now painted in deep hues of orange and pink, a canvas of dreams and possibilities. He reached out, his hand finding hers amidst the shifting sands, their fingers intertwining like the chapters of their intertwined lives.

"I'm here for you, Maiari," Nelson said, his voice filled with an earnest concern that mirrored the embrace of the cooling evening breeze. "Nothing has changed, what was before, it still remains."

Days turned into weeks, and Maiari found solace and happiness in Nelson's presence. He cared for her in ways that were once reserved for D'Andre, and she couldn't help but be grateful for his unwavering support.
