"Again."
Megan, in her wolf form, breathed hard. Through their mental pack link, she said, "Elvin, we've done this so much already this morning. I won't even get to fighting Master if I don't pass the other challenges."
Elvin's large grey wolf suddenly lunged at her and she dodged, nipping his throat as he passed.
"Plus, I've been able to beat you for years," she said, not able to stop the smugness creeping into her tone. She'd first won against him eight years or so ago. She had been able to beat him more often than not for the last three years, after she'd really come into her own as a dominant wolf.
"Master's much faster than me, even if he's not as quiet," Elvin said back as he landed on his feet, began circling her. "You should train with Charmaine as well, you know how fast she is, even for an old wolf."
