"I told her I loved her and she didn't say it back," Drew says in a small voice.

Clearly he is hurt and disappointed with his latest confession to Cassandra. One confession, might I add, that I had no idea about.

He never even hinted at the fact that he was in love with her.

I lean back in my desk chair at work, my hands resting on my thighs, while Drew sits in my client chair. His lips press into a tight line as he runs his fingers through his now disheveled hair.

"Dude, I'm no expert on this subject, but I'm pretty sure you can't be upset if someone doesn't say it back right away. I personally would rather have someone say it back only if the feelings were reciprocated. Would you really want Cassandra to say those words if she didn't mean it?"

Drew pauses before responding, taking my question into consideration as his eyes gawk at the tile flooring, then he swivels in his chair. "No, I suppose not," he answers dryly,
