Omaha 2

They both got done at about the same time. Jeremy came downstairs wearing a sleeveless shirt and grey sweatpants and instantly stopped when he saw Alexandra starting to jog on the treadmill; her leggings emphasized her shape and made her butt stand out.

As much as Jeremy was a gentleman, he couldn't resist the tractor beam of her leggings. He shook his body to refocus as he needed to be a coach for Alexandra.

As she was wrapping up warming up for training, Jeremy let her know that a buddy of his who was currently playing linebacker in NAFL for Houston sent him a workout that should work for her with some modifications. He gave Alexandra the printed workout to get her thoughts.

She examined it and agreed to try it out with some changes, as Cupid sent Jeremy the reps and sets that he used.

As they started the workout, Alexandra spoke up, " I thought about this more from yesterday regarding you asking questions about me to coach me better and get to know me. I thought it would only be fair to do like twenty questions with each other that way, I could get to know my coach better outside of the information everyone knows from television. If you think that's fair? "

Jeremy thinks about it, and it was fair. Also, he wanted to get to know Alexandra better anyhow. Jeremy replies, " Ok, that's fine with me. Ladies ask first tho. "

Alexandra laughs, responding, " You're such a gentleman. I'm going to hit you with a big one out of the gate. Is it true that you've never had a girlfriend throughout high school and college? "

Jeremy chuckles before answering, " You are going hard out of the gate. I'm surprised that you remember that interview on draft day. The answer is yes, that's true. I have never had a girlfriend. I haven't had the chance to be sociable and look for a partner since I got drafted. I know I'm weird. "

Jeremy nervously laughs, then continues, " How did you get into football? Did you play college ball? "

She smiles and says, "I don't think you're weird. You are driven and focused on your goals. I understand how you weren't looking for a relationship after you were drafted. To answer your question, my father was basically a career backup in the NAFL; that's how I got into football. I didn't play in college; I went to Ole Miss for my first two years, then transferred to Colorado to be closer to my mom's family."

He nodded along, and it made sense. " well, I, for one, am glad you made it back to the centennial state. "

" My turn. " she beamed, " So this is a fancy joint! Why did you pick the better homes and gardens cover house? You seem more a modern fancy apartment type."

Jeremy let out a short laugh. "fancy apartment? I have to say that one stings, I like to think of myself as a classical guy. Having a house and land is the quintessential American dream, after all. Glad you think it's good enough for a magazine; I'll give the gardener your regards." he teased, noticing the slight flush entering her cheeks. "I wouldn't mind giving you a tour sometime. By the way, I'm glad your gate code worked."

She smiled at the offer, " I would love a tour. We could do it after the workout if you're up for it. You know, since I'm already here."

"That's great, and I know it's getting late. I could cook dinner for us." Jeremy said

Alexandra blushed further. "Wow, dinner and a tour. For a guy who never had a girlfriend, that's pretty smooth." Jeremy chuckled.

The two continued the workout, and Alexandra admitted that the Cupid program did feel like a game-changer. There was also an air of ease when working with Jeremy. It was like he was going out with an old friend you'd known for ages.

Afterward, the pair headed out of the gym and to a side room.

"Well," Jeremy began, "this is as good a place as any to start our tour. This is my recovery room. I've got all the basics plus a few extras. The cryotherapy chamber, for one. Then there's the hydro massage table. Feel free to use these after your workouts if you want. "

Alexandra's eyes widened, "Wow, this is some setup, flat screen and all. Let me guess. You binge-watch real housewives during your messages."

Jeremy had to laugh, " Not hardly; I'll be honest here, more often than not, I'm listening to music or watching reruns of old shows or movies. "

She stuck out her tongue. " Aww, you're no fun. So where to next? "

He pondered this for a moment, " let's take the side door out, and I'll give you a quick tour of the exterior. "

Once outside, Alexandra was treated to a picturesque patio set up with multiple seating areas and a fire pit. Not only that, but the intricately sculpted walls felt like you had stepped onto a property somewhere in the south of France.

" Is that a pond? " she questions, walking over to a water feature to the right of the patio.

Jeremy rubbed the back of his neck and smiled. " Yeah, it is; there are a few koi in there too. If you want to follow me, I can take you up to the deck and the pool."

Alexandra tried her best not to seem overly enthusiastic." That sounds great. "

The pool was huge, and the deck was just as welcoming, with a fully equipped kitchen and grill station. " I bet your summer parties are legendary. "

" I'm not much of a big party guy, believe it or not; I don't mind a few friends or family over. Having a house full of people just isn't my scene, though. "

He's gorgeous and down to earth?! She thought to herself, how is he not locked down yet?

" No, I agree, " she said, following him back inside.

They made their way through a living area that was equal parts cozy and modern. She could see why Jeremy liked this place. It had the kind of charm you didn't see anymore.

Passing across the entry hall, she looked at the expansive staircase heading upstairs. " what's up there? "

" Bedrooms and bathrooms mostly; Feel free to head up after you freshen up while I make dinner if you're like me and need to be clean after working out. " Jeremy said as they entered the kitchen.

" Thanks, I'll be taking you up on that. " she smiled.

The kitchen was another hem of the house. Marble counters and all stainless steel appliances. Everything a cook could want and then some. The dining room was just across, sporting warm hardwood floors and a table large enough for company.

They headed out of the east wing of the downstairs and into the west. A hallway opened to a large room with wooden floors and paneling. It felt very Mad Men to Alexandra. It screamed class and old Hollywood style.

"This is the study; I spend a decent amount of time here. It's quiet, and I can think about things attached to the study is the cigar room. " Jeremy said, running his hand over one of the large oak bookcases.

" I could see how you could unwind after a hard day in here. "Alexandra said

" Well, you've pretty much seen everything. I hope you don't mind having ginger stir-fry with chicken & bell peppers over brown rice. I don't mean to brag, but I take my post-workout meals seriously. " Jeremy said with a grin.

She laughed " I think stir-fry sounds terrific. "

Alexandra headed to the bedroom she had changed in before, and of course, the bathroom was just as luxurious as the rest of the house. She wondered what the other rooms looked like. After showering quickly, She changed into a pair of shorts and lost fitting band t-shirt. She almost laughed at how casual she looked in a place as lovely as this. But then, Jeremy wasn't precisely the designer fashion guy either. Alexandra went upstairs to check out the rest of the historic house, and the other rooms were unique in their own way. She made her way back down the steps, and the rich smells of herbs of stir-fry wafted to her nose from the kitchen. Jeremy was plating up a pair of bowls on the counter bar when she entered.

"That smells like heaven," she said, hopping onto one of the bar stools.

Jeremy mounted one beside her, covering her with a glass of water." Let's hope it tastes just as good as it smells, then. "

Of course, the stir-fry was excellent, and the conversation was even more so. Words seemed to flow so quickly between them. It was during this conversation and the second helpings of dinner that Jeremy posed a question.

"Say... I have a favor to ask. Now, before I do, I want you to know you can feel free to say no. I have to go to a special event tomorrow, and I can't tell you how much I hate going to these things. That is to say, I also hate going alone. I'm not sure if you're into that or even available for it, but would you mind being my plus one? " Jeremy's ears grew red, and she could help but find it cute.

" A Special Event? Wow, that sounds fancy, " she commented.

" Black tie, actually, and if you go to Calypso's tomorrow after tryouts, they will take care of you for tomorrow night's event. Go ahead and get the whole 9 yards. Tell them to put it on Davis #3 account and I'll take care of the tab since you're helping me out. " Jeremy remarked.

Alexandra put on her best poker face." Well, I guess . " she drawled, watching him squirm a bit before smiling at him." Yeah, of course I will. Shopping for a fancy event, I might be sporty, but I'm still a girl. Plus, it sounds like fun. "

He let out a sigh of relief. " Thanks. Believe me when I say you're doing me a huge favor. "

After dinner, Alexandra and Jeremy said their goodbyes, and they'll see each other at the Outlaws' tryouts in the morning as she headed home. Her mind was full of images from the day as she slid into bed that night—the Grand house, the great conversation, not to mention the surprise invitation to such an exclusive event. More than that, she thought of Jeremy as she drifted to sleep with intimate thoughts.
