Chapter 55: Smell of Stones

"What do you think happened to Mr. Elixr?" I whispered to Demitri when we were already in our way out of the bordello. The others were busy checking out the wine.

"I have no idea," he answered.

"Really? The mighty crown prince of the most powerful kingdom in the east, no idea?"

He smirked and shook his head. I thought he would send me back to the carriage but I was surprised when he pulled me towards his black stallion.

"Want to have your first ride with me?"

My eyes widened. I didn't expect that!

"Are you serious?"

"I am."

"Let's go then!"

He cocked his head, hiding his face from the warm sunlight. I bit the insides of my lip as I watched his features carefully. Even in broad daylight, the darkness in his eyes was unforgiving. Though in spite the hardness and traces of storm in his face, there's no doubt he is a masterpiece. And I would definitely not get tired of staring at his face all day long.

"Quit staring. I might think you already fell in love with me."
