Chapter 16

The smell of bacon and dishes clanking in the kitchen woke me up. My eyes blinked open adjusting to the light. Adrian was moving around frantically from the stove to the fridge. He turned to look back at me as if he felt my eyes on him.

“He cooks?” I questioned with a raised eyebrow.

“Only when I’m in a good mood.” He walked over to me smiling with a cup of coffee in his hand, kissing me on the cheek. I smiled back and looked up at him in awe. I half expected him to be gone when I woke up. I wondered how he could look this good in the morning. I, on the other hand, was sure I probably was a mess, especially after the night we had.

A warm sensation surged through me as I remembered the things that happened here in this very spot. I snapped out of the daydream and took a sip of the coffee.

“So, I made a little bit of everything,” he stated. “I hope you’re hungry,” he looked at me grinning. And I was.
