Chapter 24 : New Life, New Choices

Stepping out of the car, the three of us collected all the boxes and bags that held the little bit of shit I actually did have to my name. Noah, having made his way into the lobby, collected a sleek silver rolling cart because even though I didn’t have that much shit, I didn’t feel like making multiple trips. The sun was setting behind the towering building, casting long shadows on the sidewalk and reflecting orange and pink hues off its shining exterior. Call me lazy, but if given the choice…anyone would prefer my route.

The building itself was a sight to behold, reminiscent of something straight out of New York Magazine. Its modern design stood in sharp contrast to the quiet area it resided in and towered over the sidewalks below, its grandeur almost intimidating. My hand instinctively came up to shield my eyes from the warm golden light as we approached.
