Chapter 0013

I sighed as I looked down before sitting on one of the benches.

"I am, using that is. We don't know one another though, I don't know you."

Even when we were kids maybe? Pack school? I mean, we have to be around the same age right? I just, I know I know you."

"Look, you can't stay here, you have to leave, no one knows who I am here, I need it to stay that way alright, please."

"Are you a rogue? Did someone hurt you? Maybe I can help protect you, I may just be a warrior, but I'm head warrior with another. Let me help, please Ellie."

He knelt down his hand going to grab mine when I pulled back, turning my body away from him. I hadn't been with another wolf in so long, I was feeling overwhelmed. Being here, like this with him, I missed home, my dad, my brother, even my mother, but what's craziest is, I miss him, his face, his scent, the way he would stupidly smirk at me as if he knew everything and I was missing something.

Which I was, I was missing the knowledge of knowing we were in fact mates, something he knew yet destroyed, and for what?

For some stupid whore, someone that would give it up to anyone in a position of power if it meant she would be able to be in one as well. Those damn girls that think they are more than they truly are.

Why did he do all of this? Then never look for me either? I mean, I'm literally an hour! One damn hour away from the pack border, for five years, sitting here, waiting, yet nothing until now.

"I'm not a rogue Byron, but telling you, who I am, it could cause so many problems."

"Well you could start with why you are contacts maybe? Is it to hide your wolf, so she can't be seen if she comes forward, like when you growled at me."

I looked over at him, he was still knelt down, his eyes holding sincerity along with worry as his eyes swirled showing his wolf peering out looking at me before I watched his eyes glaze over a bit before they went clear again.

'Ellie, his wolf was trying to contact me, but I blocked him out. He knows us hun, he isn't going to just let this go, this man is one stubborn guy.'

'You think we should tell him who we are!?'

'I think that I want to go back home, just as much as you do. I miss their scent Livvy, I miss them all.'

I felt my heart sink in my chest, I haven't been the only one that was suffering all these years, she was too, but she hid it from me. Now, now that we have seen another wolf, been in the presence of someone we actually used to know, it's as if the floodgates we built up all those years ago just came tumbling down.

"Byron, we went to school together, way back when, but we weren't in the same classes."

He perked up, then tilted his head to study my face. It's been years and I'm underweight and my hair being different along with the contacts, figuring it out would take a real talent on his end.

"So when I came into the diner, you recognized me, didn't you?"

"Your scent, then when I saw your face, I knew I knew you, but when you told me your name I was positive of who you were, yes.

Honestly it's why I went to your car with you, I wanted to see if you were telling me the truth, or if you were looking for me."

"Looking for you, why would I be...."

He froze, his eyes widened before he stood back up as he began pacing the room.
