Chapter 82

Kirk's eyes narrowed.

"Are you going to join the design competition too?"

"Yes." Caroline walked out after washing up. She kept her head down and didn't look at Kirk. After thinking about it, she hid in the kitchen. "What would you like to eat?"

Kirk leaned against the glass kitchen door. "Sleep first. I'll buy you breakfast."

"I can't." Caroline sniffed. "I have to send food for Eddy too."

Kirk's gaze darkened. "You're sending him food?"

Kirk had just returned from the hospital. He'd already found out that Eddy had been admitted yesterday.

"Yes. He's very picky with food." Caroline had experienced it firsthand. Eddy would make a huge fuss if the food wasn't to his liking. "Enough talk. Wait outside; breakfast will be done in a bit."

Caroline didn't want to spend time with Kirk under the same roof.

Kirk suppressed his displeasure. "Do you still care about him?"

The noise of the kitchen hood overpowered Kirk's voice. Caroline didn't hear what he'd said. She started cooking.
