Chapter 16 Recovering From The Rot (trigger warning)

The unusual sun rays cast a reflection off the vanity mirror that shined brightly on my closed eyelids. I blinked my eyes, blinded momentarily by the sunlight as I glanced around my surroundings.

The bathroom door opened and Lucian came out with damp hair and a towel wrapped around his waist. He saw my cocked brow and grinned.

"Morning princess, our melancholy has passed and the fever is gone. I'm sure your wolf is feeling much better because I certainly am, after sleeping for two whole days," he said kindly and headed toward the bed and placed his cool palm on my forehead.

"Yep, you're not burning up anymore either. Would you like to join me to deliver invitations for your upcoming "party" your dad is hosting?" He asked me with a hopeful gaze. I rubbed my eyes and shrugged.

"I suppose I could only if I can wear something casual and not be dressed like a princess," I said softly with a long yawn.
