Wilson clenched his fist tightly. Blood flowed down his hands as he clenched the vibrating knife tightly. It was his only weapon left with him, aside from his gauntlets which were still tightly fitted into his hands. He looked around at the three people surrounding him from quite a distance in the triangle formation. He saw one of them look down at his watch. Distracted during a fight? Wilson wanted to go and beat him down first. Three minus one equals less chances of him dying.
But he couldn't. The other two did not look a away from him. Their eyes were trained on him; guns in their hands - two pistols with each one of them and a rifle on their backs - and they were the better shooters."Oh damnit! This is not even the target." The one who looked down and was fiddling with his watch, said. His teammates grunted and complained."F*ck!, I knew it." One of the other two said. He had a large scar on the side of his neck that ran down to his shoulders where they were hidden*pew* *pew* *pew*Three bullets out of Charlie's gun hit the last of the trio, right in the skull. As if mocking him, Charlie had shot the bullets in a way that they formed a triangle.Charlie snickered and looked at Wilson."Sh*t!" He cursed. Wilson was in a terrible, terrible shape.Charlie ran over to the unconscious Wilson. His pulse was low. Without wasting time, he took out a low level potion from his ring and forced the gelatinous liquid down Wilson's throat. After which he took out his jetpack once more and carrying Wilson princess-style, soared straight for the skies. Time to bounce.*************Dash ran for his life. He had made a costly mistake. He had thought she was someone else until it was too late and almost got killed because she had noticed him. He did not take into account the chances of a traveller being a part of this hunt and now a sonar specialist from an entirely different kingdom was hot on his ass merely because of a variable he sh
When the sonar specialist reached and pointed the gun at Wilson's head, Wilson groaned and opened his eyes to look up at her, his face pale and slightly bloody. He saw the gun and sighed. He had really been through a lot today. Would this be the end? Where was the person that helped him earlier? Has he been abandoned?Lots of questions filled his mind but he was too weak to say a word or move a muscle. Only his eyes stared unblinkingly into the gun muzzle pointed at his head."Any last words?" The sonar specialist asked."Yes!" Charlie answered from the side.Quickly, the sonar specialist turned to the side, her gun moving with her and pointed at the speaker. In her heart, she was astonished. How come she did not hear this one's heartbeat? Or was this one of those extremely rare people who awakened the undead abilities? Which was he; necromancer, zombie-sub, undead contractor? Regardless, she was not taking chances and shot at him. Someone who could stay wi
"Charlie? What are you doing here?" Wilson asked in surprise, while at the same time, releasing his grip on Dash's leg.Charlie merely shrugged as he lowered his gun and responded, "Saving your abandoned self.""Abandoned?" Wilson asked."Yes!" Charlie affirmed."Who abandoned you?" Dash asked Wilson.Wilson did not respond to Dash but instead continued looking at Charlie, puzzled."I was abandoned?" He asked."You did not realize?" Charlie asked back, a little surprised.Dash chuckled and chipped in an insult, "You are stupider than I thought."Wilson scowled back at Dash and asked."Should you not be taking care of little Sofia? What are you doing here?""Oh f*ck!" Dash gasped and ran away, back towards the part of the forest that comprised of the modified hollow trees. He berated himself as he ran. How could he have forgotten his own sister. How dare he do that? He insulted himself and cursed as he ran, hoping and praying that she was s
Dash quickly tapped a few buttons on one of the monitors and played the video back while Wilson and Charlie watched. Sofia had woken up, had called out to her big brother's Dash and Wilson. They were too far away to hear her but two people; both women - probably twins - heard her and one of them blasted a hole in the tree."Explosive Fire ability." Charlie muttered, his hand stroking his chin. The other woman quickly waved her hand and pulled Sofia towards her."Telekinesis." Charlie muttered again, giving the name of the ability.Dash said nothing and continued to quietly watch the playback video.Sofia screamed in fear and called out for help. It irritated the two women and one of them roughly knocked her out and Dash clenched his fist and jaw. There was no finesse in the way she knocked little Sofia out. It was obvious she did that on purpose."Wicked." Wilson said."B*tch!" Charlie insulted her.Dash then sped up the playback by four times and saw
Wilson, Charlie, Dash and Sofia finally arrived at their destination, Forest Garden - the most rogue part of Tiger City. They walked in amidst a sea of people as Charlie led the way to a small store.*Ting*As they entered, through the day, a small bell rang in a high timbre, alerting the store owner."Oh my! Is that who I think it is?" The store owner - an old, hairy man with a shaky voice and a shrivelled rat tail - asked rhetorically."Hello, Edward!" Charlie waved his hands as he greeted. "How are you doing?"The old man beamed, his old yellow teeth somehow managed to make him look younger."I am doing better, all tanks to you." He said."Oh, it's nothing much." Charlie tried to wave it off."It really is. Thanks to you, this old man here has managed to cure and marry off his two daughters. Oh have I told you that we are expecting my first grandchild in three months time?""Yes, yes. you have a thousand times." Charlie said as he sat on a stoo
"Hmm," Edward hummed as he stroked his tail. "For starters, where are you guys going to stay?"Wilson looked straight at Dash, who responded to Edward."I have a place but it is underground.""The forest?" Charlie asked. "I do not think it is a great idea."Dash shook his head and responded, "No. Not the forest. It is under a building, some distance from here. Dad said it was spacious, sound-proof and well-ventilated. And there are food and water supplies in there. So, we can hide there until things calm down.""Have you been there yet?" Edward asked."No.""Then, how can we be sure?" "Dad wouldn't lie about something like that.""I am not doubting your father's truthfulness..." Edward said. Charlie interrupted and finished the sentence for him:".... but, how can we be sure that it is still well hidden?""That someone hasn't discovered or occupied the place?" Edward said.Dash sighed and shook his head helplessly."Then, what sho
It was evening when the old half-man, half-rat known as Edward led Wilson, Dash and Charlie to see the gang he was talking about. They walked slowly, Charlie and Edward randomly raised random, somewhat weird topics and easily defected to another topic that came to mind, but still arrived at the gang's territory ten minutes later. Wilson looked around at the entire block teeming with people of different shapes, sizes and ages. Male and female; young and old; ugly and good-looking; full humans and half-humans. It was a very complete place. There were stores and stalls and residential buildings. in the same block, there was even a clinic, restaurants, bars and a small bank. It was really an ideal place. It was so populated, yet free at the same time. Everyone could still have their personal space while they moved. The people living there would not even need to ever step out of the block as everything they could possibly need - financially, physically, sexually and health-wise - w
"Father-in-law! Hahaha." A loud booming voice that shook the whole building could be heard from behind them inside the building. It really put Wilson, Dash and Charlie on edge.A giant of a man came running, or is it jogging? Wilson could not tell. With a man his size, he could easily be assessed as doing both depending on whose perspective you took. Anyway, the giant arrived in front of them very quickly, bringing with him a devastating gust of wind that threatened to blow poor old father-in-law away. Perhaps, the old ratman might have been blown away if son-in-law hadn't picked him up for a hug.Dash laughed when he saw how little the old ratman looked in comparison to his giant son-in-law."My able son-in-law. How many times have I told you to tune it down?" Edward said as soon as he was dropped. He was massaging his lower back slowly as he said. "And why did you hug me like that? You want my back to fall out? Let me tell you. This old Edward will not be confined to a wheelchair."
