Chapter 2

Olivia didn't know why she had such a dream.

After getting up, she simply took out her mobile phone to search for Ray's Group. Jacob was the president, and in addition, he has had ambiguous affairs with many female stars in the past, so his picture could still be found on the Internet, which was exactly the same as in the dream. Moreover, the problem came, just yesterday afternoon, there was news that the marriage between Ray's Group and White's Group would be shelved?!

‘Is it true that what she dreamed was true, or is she now the passer-by in the novel?’

Not daring to delay, Olivia came out of the room, grabbed her grandmother, and asked, "Nanny, how much do you know about Miss Smith in Room 202?"

The general tenant registration, including a copy of the ID card, was kept with her. Miss Smith’s full name was Jasmine Smith, and in her dream, she was Jacob’s secretary.

All of a sudden, Olivia's worldview was subverted, so she lived so big that she ended up in a world of fiction?

‘Omg, I’m not a female Truman, am I?’

Although Grandma was surprised by her attitude, she slowly replied, "What do you want to know?"

"Did she tell you about her husband or boyfriend?"

"Yes."

Grandma nodded.

Olivia was not surprised. Her grandmother was an amiable old lady. Even the bullies in the village respected her, and her grandmother would often bring Miss Smith some soup. ‘With Miss Smith's character, it was hard not to mention the past in the chat, right?! After all, she shouldn't be on guard against grandma.’

"I heard her mention it before, it seemed that her boyfriend's family didn’t accept her, so she left."

Grandma sighed with pity in her eyes. "It's really hard for a person to be pregnant and take care of a baby these days. Anyway, why do you ask?"

Oliva shook her head. "It's nothing."

She was just surprised that it was a world of fiction and that the future wife of the president was a tenant of her family.

When ordinary people knew the identity of Jasmine, they would go up and fawn on her.

Olivia followed her grandmother to room 202. Jasmine opened the door. Over the past few months, she has put on some weight, but there was still a lingering melancholy between her eyebrows.

To be honest, Jasmine was not very beautiful. She looked very gentle and spoke softly, which made people feel very comfortable.

Grandma promised to be in charge of her three meals a day. From today on, breakfast was not a big meal, but it was delicious.

Jasmine sipped the porridge cooked by Grandma and could not help praising it softly: "Granny, it tastes so good. I don't think the restaurants outside are as good as you."

This was not flattery. Jasmine felt that Grandma Gill and her granddaughter were the best people she has ever met since she left Jacob.

They did not take the initiative to inquire about her, and they usually took good care of her, especially Granny Gill, to whom Jasmine was full of gratitude.

Granny Gill smiled and waved. "Oli likes to eat out, but she doesn't like to eat at home."

Jasmine smiled. "It's all like this. I like to eat out before I don't have a job. When I eat takeout every day after work, I miss my mother's cooking very much."

When Olivia heard this, she looked up at Jasmine.

In her dream, Jasmine’s mother tested for cancer in her first year of work and died soon after.

This woman's life was very bitter. She lost her father when she was young, and later she lost her mother. The man she loved deeply wanted to marry another woman, and she was still alone and pregnant with a child.

Olivia suddenly realized why Jacob, who had met countless people, liked her. She had encountered so much, but her eyes were still very clear. Even when she mentioned her deceased mother, the smile on her face was still warm. She had no trace of dissatisfaction with the arrangement of life.

"Oli, you haven't gone to work yet. Go to Tim's house to buy a chicken and we make soup today."

Granny Gill looked at Jasmine. "You should get some weight, Jas."

Jasmine's eyes were slightly red, and she bowed her head and drank porridge to hide the mood in her eyes.

Oli had intended to ask her about Ray's Group, but for some reason, she suddenly couldn't bear it.

"Olia, are you looking for a job now?"

Jasmine asked suddenly.

Olivia nodded. "Well, I've interviewed a lot of companies, and I'm exhausted every day."

Jasmine nodded thoughtfully.

Olivia has been here many times before. Jasmine bought a lot of baby supplies, and the room was also arranged by her to be very warm. But she couldn't figure it out, with such a large sum of money, Jasmine could live in a better apartment. How could she come here?

At noon, Jasmine came to the third floor to have lunch with Olivia and Granny Gill.

Grandma Gill prepared a lot of dishes for Jasmine.

Oli could not help joking, "Grandma is so biased. When I was at home, the meals were cooked simple, and now there is chicken soup and beef."

"If you are pregnant, I will prepare a full table for you every day!"

Granny Gill smiled and scolded.

Jasmine usually cooked, but as her belly got bigger and bigger, she couldn't do what she wanted. She only ordered takeout several times, but she was afraid that it would be bad for the baby, so she asked grandma Gill for help.

There was no elevator in the building. After lunch, at the order of Granny Gill, Olivia helped Jasmine back to Room 202.

Oli was going to go home, but she was stopped by Jasmine.

"Oli, can you accompany me to the nearby park?"

There was something wrong with Jasmine's mood, and Olivia probably knew why. At lunchtime, there was also a broadcast on the TV about the cancellation of the marriage between Ray's Group and White's Group. Jasmine could not have been untouched.

Olivia had nothing to do anyway, coupled with the fact that Jasmine was the future wife of the president, she had no reason to disagree.

It was not that Olivia wanted to be rich and powerful, but it was a kind of thought of ordinary people.

After Jasmine became rich, it was best if she could remember her and her grandma. But it would be ok if she couldn’t remember them, after all, Jasmine did not owe her anything. It was just something that needed a slight effort to take care of Jasmine. For Jasmine, it doesn't matter whether it is a timely help or to add icing to the cake.

There was a park nearby, which was only ten minutes' walk.

Today was a working day, many middle-aged people in the community have gathered to play cards, but there were not many people in the park.

Although it was a little hot at the moment, the park was full of big trees, sitting in the shade, blowing in the cool breeze, which was at ease.

Jasmine suddenly asked, "Oli, have you ever been in love?"

As a matter of fact, Olivia was not familiar with her. Jasmine was only familiar with Grandma Gill, but she liked Olivia, so did Oli.

"Yes."

Olivia thought for a moment. "We had two relationships."

"What kind of persons are they?"

Olivia recalled, "They are all my classmates, one is a classmate in high school, and the other is a senior in university. They are all very nice people. But the high school classmate, when he went to college out of town, we slowly lost touch. After the senior graduated, he was busy at work. I was idle at that time, so I broke up with him when we had a conflict."

Her love history was very simple, not as thrilling and vigorous as Jasmine’s.

Jasmine smiled and said, "It's good, an ordinary relationship is better."

Olivia watched the development of the whole novel. Jasmine was no longer in Jacob, so even if Jacob was no longer engaged and married to someone else, although she was touched in her heart, she would not go back to him again. Now she just wanted to give birth to her baby and raise it well.

After hearing Jasmine's words, Olivia did not know what to say. You know, her dream in her second year of junior high school was to meet a lady with millions of checks and contemptuously say to her, "give you 5 million dollars and leave my son." She will immediately pick up the check and leave.

After all these years, not to mention 5 million, she even didn’t meet a person who took 50 dollars for her to leave.

After returning from the park with Jasmine, Olivia got a W******p message.

It was a message from Tim, asking her to have Hot Pot together.

Olivia and Tim were barely called childhood sweethearts, of course, the men in her community who were about her age were all her “childhood sweethearts.”

There was a famous old Hot Pot store nearby. It was the afternoon, and there were few people there. When Olivia came to the store, Tim had already arrived. After choosing some dishes, the two sat under the electric fan and talked.

In fact, there was nothing to talk about between them.

Tim liked to talk about the small business in which he bought a stake, but the point was that Olivia didn't understand and was not interested.

She wasn't hungry and couldn't eat after a few bites.

When they were ready to leave, the tenant of her family who lived in the basement came over.

The basement tenant also moved here a few months ago. He didn't say much, but the rent was paid on time every month.

He was very thin, estimated to be more than 1.8 meters, but he was all skinny. When he moved here, he had only one guitar in his luggage.

Grandma couldn't bear it any longer so she gave him the old sheets and bedding that had been washed clean, otherwise, Olivia would not know how he was going to sleep, because the basement was already very damp and cold.

As she passed him, Olivia noticed that he had ordered instant noodles and the cheapest vegetables, which added up to about $5.

She didn't believe that he wanted to lose weight. He probably had no money.
