Chapter 15 | Fake It

I’ve always been in good shape. My father made me work hard so that I would be ready in case a vampire ever attacked. My dad’s paranoid after he lost his parents to an attack and he wasn’t home to keep them safe.

It’s crazy that when the day comes you truly aren’t prepared for it. It happened so fast, it makes me upset. I should’ve been able to do something but… I know better now. I will get Raya back. She doesn’t deserve this, even if she is his daughter. She’s a human and she belongs with our family.

I travel through the woods and it’s harder than I expected it would be. The uneven terrain, feeling on edge by every sound, the hours of walking and not knowing if you’re even close to the right direction. I’m hoping that I might be able to lure the vampire to me once night comes. I could make myself bleed and then put a stake through him before he can kill me.
