Chapter 68— Getting away

My wrist got hotter as I dragged the chair to the table. I was sure it had left a red mark. Sophia's and Collins' argument still went on as I reached the table the knife was on.

A small table knife but of course I could do something with it. I had to— because I had to get out of here for the sake of my baby.

Swallowing hard, I turned my back facing the table and worked my ropes on the knife. But of course, it didn't work. Goddamn it

Tears sprang to my eyes as my chest fell and rose while I tried to make something happen. Nothing worked.

I nodded as I swallowed hard before I whipped my head to the knife and I blinked. Another way. At once, I moved the chair closer to the table and I exhaled as I strained my tied hands to get the knife.
