"I don't think you know where you are going," she groaned for the hundredth time.

"Why do you say so?"

"Nothing"

I shook my head. She was getting to me. In just a day, she was crawling into my head, taking place on the part of my lung to show how very uncomfortable she was, her eyes blazing at me, and I'd think for a moment she was going to tear at my throat and take back the life she had given me.

This was the best laugh I have had in ages, the greatest; it bubbled from my stomach right up to my chest so that I had to withhold myself from giggling; instead, only a grin stayed, and I could see how much that got her angry.

She was behind me, stumbling on her steps, tired but unable to say it out because she had rejected my offer for a piggyback.

It was tempting to pick her up and let everything go, saving her legs from the pain that would hit her knees afterward, but I wasn't going to let her off the hook that easily.
