Gaby put Ari in charge of stirring the stew, and she combined the ingredients for the fry bread.
“So, where do you come from originally?”
Ari glanced at her.
“Originally, I was born in Fiji, but when I was 15, we moved to California.”
“Wow, Fiji. Why did you move to California?”
“My father was killed, so my mom moved closer to her family.”
