Eleanor

Lina served strawberry pancakes that she just made with orange juice. I sat beside Mom, holding onto her hand so tight. It felt as if, if I left her for the slightest moment, she'd be gone.

"Eleanor, she's not going anywhere," Lina said with her American accent. I cleared my throat. "So what has she told you?" I asked Lina.

"she's not fully recovered. There was no sign of torture but her leg is broken perhaps she had an accident. I called a nurse, she said they had been feeding her a particular drug that contained strong caffeine so she might have memory loss gradually but she is fighting it. Currently, she knows who you are, and she has been saying your name. She said she wasn't going to tell us anything until you came around. It's about time."
