"Alberto, please don't leave me," Sonia whispered, tears welling up in his eyes. She held his hand tightly as he lay there with her eyes closed.

Sonia's voice cracked as she sobbed,

"I still love you, Alberto. Please, open your eyes and don't leave me."

Struggling to sit up, Alberto replied with a weak smile, "I can't believe I'm going to be a father."

Sonia's emotions shifted suddenly, and she slapped his shoulder lightly. "You should have told me he was gone, you silly man."

Alberto's touch was gentle as he caressed her face, making her blush.

"I loved hearing you say that you love me," he said softly.
