Consequences

Sheila's POV

I nervously fidgeted with the hem of my blouse, as I sat quietly in the front seat of André's car. I couldn't bring myself to say anything or to look right into his direction because as far as I could tell, he was pretty pissed. I wanted to ask him how he found me but suddenly decided against it.

He had his hands on the steering wheel and his eyes straight up ahead. I saw his grip on the steering tighten a couple times and his jaw muscle was constantly ticking... something he does when he is pissed.

"So... beautiful day huh?!" I blurted out, totally surprising myself. What a stupid way to break the silence.

André still kept his eyes on the road, clearly not wanting to have that conversation with me or any other conversation at all. He probably thinks of me as some snitch or something. Maybe he was thinking I purposely met up with the detective to rat him out. I frowned at the thought.

"I didn't tell him anything." I said, daring myself to look at his face.
