Tally could feel her scalp tingling under Victor's intense gaze. "Erm, didn't you catch that smell?"

"I did," Victor said, almost whispering.

However, he had no suspicion that it was the smell of rotten eggs. He thought it was normal. He figured it was just how raw eggs smelled.

Tally was at a loss for words. She wasn't really sure how to handle this. "So, do you know how to cook?"

"Not really, but I want to cook for you," Victor said earnestly.

Tally's scalp tingled at the reply. She wondered if he was planning to poison her.

"You might want to reconsider getting into the kitchen," Tally advised firmly. She had no intention to die young.

Tally had a flash of memory—Victor had cooked before, and he seemed pretty adept in the kitchen back then. But this time, he couldn't even tell a rotten egg.

Despite that, Tally couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling after that last bite. She made up her mind. Victor wasn't getting near the kitchen ever again.
