Chapter 28

The Commander

She felt her knees shaking from the effort, she was out of breath, but she still tried to force herself to keep pushing him. In her mind, she could see the movement of the water. She was succeeding. She was getting closer and closer to Mihdel.

"You’re sweating blood," a voice said a voice, causing her to lose focus.

The wire connecting her to the water broke, and she lost control of it to see Mihdel. She turned to the man while he looked at her laughing.

Are you kidding me?

His blond hair fell on his face in light waves, his eyes blue as the ocean sparkled, he could have sworn they were even brighter than usual.

Even the commander’s gray eyes seemed to shine brighter in recent weeks. Maybe it was all the magic and power that was finally flowing through her body, or maybe it was just her impression.

"You arrived much earlier than I expected," the commander said, trying to catch her breath.
