How could he lie to my face so casually? Why was he being so secretive? It bothered me that he left for the woods again after clearly noticing something, yet refused to share it with me.

Maybe I shouldn't care, but I couldn't shake the feeling. When it came to anything concerning Rafael, I felt like it was my concern, and I found myself unable not to care.

Letting out a deep sigh, I raised my eyes to the sky, feeling the wind whip through my hair. The night sky was filled with dazzling stars, just like earlier this evening, but their beauty did nothing to ease the anger that consumed me. "I can't stand him right now," I muttered. "Why wouldn't he just tell me?"

"Would it really make you feel better if I did?" a voice interrupted.

Surprised, I widened my eyes and turned to find Rafael standing there, his gaze distant. When did he get here without me noticing?
