The prophecy

RAFAEL POV

For the second time today, I entered the infirmary, striding purposefully towards James' bed at the far end of the room.

"Alpha," an omega squeaked, bowing slightly.

With a nod of my head and a dismissive wave of my hand, I stepped away from her.

My mind was clouded with thoughts of James. I had learned that he had awakened earlier after my departure to attend to more pressing matters. He was the primary reason I had returned. I needed to know all that had transpired, and equally important, I needed to identify who was responsible. I never took an attack on any member of the pack lightly.

"Naomi," I said.

She turned to me, then faced James, who was now sitting up on the bed.

Rolling up the sleeve of his shirt, a brief smile appeared on her face. "This might cause some discomfort," she mumbled.

James nodded, tightly shutting his eyes. A wince escaped his lips as Naomi inserted the needle into his vein.

"Apply pressure to it to prevent swelling," she instructed, cutting off a
