26. Never Ever

Saying she was frightened was an understatement. She was shuddering within her body, and her heart was beating hastily against her ribcage, she felt as though it would explode. Her eyes stung with tears, and she willed herself to stay strong and not shed a tear in front of him.

"What do you want?" She said bitingly, feeling confident when her voice didn't crack.

"Babe," he said softly again, as he moved close to her.

Zeenah stood her ground and refused to bulge. She wouldn't give him that pleasure of seeing how scared of him she was.

"I've missed you," he added. "But it looks as though you're doing okay, with no thoughts about me. Can't you see how desperate I am?"
