The deep, hoarse voice I'd been waiting for created the loudest thump in my chest. I opened my eyes still not expecting Axe to finally give me an answer after all this time of waiting.

I couldn't stop the string of questions from coming out of my mouth. I really wanted to hear Axe's voice, but now I wasn't giving him a chance to speak. Oh, I was too excited.
