Feeling Blue

"My Mommy is still Mommy Rose. I won't go with Daddy and Aunty if Mommy doesn't come." After saying that, Oracle went running to his room and closed the door tightly.

"Oracle," Axe called after Oracle, but I quickly stopped him. It was useless.

"Never mind, Axe. Oracle was right. I deserve this. Don't push him again." I quickly clamped a hand over my mouth to stifle the sob that was about to escape. I didn't. I couldn't continue to be here, while my chest held a tightness that wouldn't go away.

I quickly moved to press the door knob, coincidentally my position had not changed since before-standing in the doorway watching the interaction that created a gaping wound in my chest.

My steps must have been towards the emergency stairs, I couldn't wait for the elevator to open which would make some people there look at me in surprise. That's fine, let me spend my energy climbing the stairs until I'm exhausted.
