WHEN it got late, they thought about going home. Their male friends stayed there to dance. There is a disco.

"What time are the fireworks?" Jelai asked, sounding sleepy. Her boyfriend supported her.

"Brelln said the that it's eleven o'clock." Laurel answered.

"Brelln again." Phoebe heard Caldwell's whisper because they were right next to each other.

"Are you saying something?" Laurel asked with her grumpy voice.

"Nothing."

She clung to Sawyer's arm. He looked down at her and smiled widely. She leaned on his shoulder. Her eyes seem to be closed. She was really sleepy. Looks like she can't wait out the fireworks.

"I'm sleepy, hon," she said softly.

He stopped walking so she stopped too. She was surprised when he sat in front of her. She looked at him in wonder. He turned around and grabbed her by the hand, before pulling her closer to him.
