Skye lifted the edges of her lips, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes. Would he still hold the same opinion once she revealed what she wanted to share with him?

"What are you two whispering about? Has the bride changed her mind?" Donncha asked. Queen Aine stared at him with a grim expression. Donncha forced a smile, but his gaze held a hint of sarcasm.

King Cinaed observed his guests from his distinct and elevated position, and he noticed that some attendees offered polite smiles while others shifted uncomfortably in their seats, pursing their lips. He let out a heavy sigh and rubbed his forehead in frustration.

"Oh, Donncha, this is no time for your jokes," Roisin said with a giggle to lighten the mood.

Hector tightened his grip on Skye's hand and whispered. "Don't pay attention," he told her, and Skye nodded.
