Chapter 54: Waffles and Vacation Plans

When I come awake, I’m facing Weston, who is lying atop the covers. 

Lachlan rolls over with a groan, looking at his phone. He lays back against the pillow. He turns and pulls me against him so that I can feel his early morning hard on. “Go back to sleep,” he murmurs against my shoulder.

“Why is West in bed with us?” I whisper to him while gently petting Weston’s chocolate hair.

“He had a nightmare. He only climbs into bed with me when he has them and the kids aren’t home,” he says and then yawns.

“Does he have them often?” I wonder.

“Mostly when we’ve been drinking. If Preston or Stetson are home, then he’ll go snuggle with them like he did when they were little. It took over a year to get him to sleep in his own bed. He was afraid to walk in one morning and find one of them dead. That wouldn’t happen with all of us here, b
