Chapter 15

Caitlyn woke up three hours later. At first, her vision was blurry. She raised her hand slowly and rubbed her eyes gently. After blinking twice, she could see clearly.

She turned her eyes away from the white ceiling and they landed on Martin who was standing beside her with his hands in his pockets and his gaze fixed on her.

"You're awake. It's been about three hours," he spoke and took his seat beside her. Caitlyn felt a sharp pain in her head that made her shut her eyes tightly. She recalled everything that happened.

Her eyes held a look of guilt as she opened them again. She couldn't bring herself to look at Martin.

"I'm sorry for making you go through the stress of bringing me here," she apologized.

"You're sorry?" Martin scoffed angrily. Caitlyn could tell he was upset, and it made her feel more guilty.

"An ulcer patient should prioritize their meals before any other thing. I suppose your smartness was taken over by your sympathy for a dog and made you neglect your hea
