Klaus inclined his head gently in Anika's direction, resting his forehead against her.

"I'm sorry," he whispered before pulling away again to focus his attention on Peter, who shot him a dark look, whatever passed for the man's gaze was not pleasant, not that he really cared, but he was fully alert to anything if the man's attempt to do something, even if he had never considered himself a easy trigger, something about the familiar way they both interacted made his stomach churn to the point where he was seriously considering shooting first, asking questions later.

Anika gave him a curious look, but he could still see the betrayal in her eyes, the fear he'd installed in her wouldn't go away that easily, but she wasn't going to back down until his suspicions about the doctor were resolved, and shit, he wished that the man would give him a reason to pierce his forehead with one of his bullets, but for now he would have to maintain his composure and command, the gun in his hand as Peter
