Chapter 28: Had Enough Madness?

As the words fell, Mason, wearing only a robe, walked down the stairs. Despite having taken a shower, his handsome face couldn't hide his exhaustion. He held a cup of coffee in his hand, with a hint of a smile on his lips but a piercing gaze in his eyes.

The two sat facing each other, and Mason took a few sips of coffee with his right hand. Seeing Aaron remaining silent, he placed the coffee cup on the table and looked at him with a slightly weary expression.

Aaron crossed his legs, appearing relaxed. "Forgive me for being presumptuous, but I have a question for Mr. Smith. Elaine's background seems quite mysterious."

Mason raised an eyebrow nonchalantly. "Mr. Brown seems to be particularly concerned about Elaine's affairs?"

"Yes," Aaron admitted surprisingly openly. This exceeded Mason's expectations, and he furrowed his brow slightly.

Aaron explained in a slightly melancholic tone, "She looks very similar to someone from my past, no, not just similar, almost identical."
