Chapter 14

As I took the last bite of ravioli on my plate under Damien's watchful eye, I rested the cutlery on the table and grabbed a napkin to wipe any traces of sauce from my lips.

The table we were at was small and in a covered area in the garden. From where I was standing I could see the huge swimming pool and I could also appreciate the beautiful house crafted from glass, steel and marble.

- It was all very nice. Thank you. - I didn't have much idea of etiquette, so I at least appealed to good manners.

- You've hardly eaten anything. - Damien made a gesture and George approached us.

- Dismiss the chef, I don't think the food was pleasant enough. - I widened my eyes. He was going to fire the chef because I hadn't eaten enough? I had to do something!
