When we left my house, I realized to my relief that there weren't many people in the street yet. Damien indicated the driver's seat to Tom and he opened the door for me himself. I got in and he followed soon after.

- Where to, Mr. Mason?

- Give Tom the coordinates, Darling. - Damien smiled nonchalantly.

- To the school two blocks down the road, Tom, please. - I asked.

- As you wish, miss. - Tom replied. He could never call me by my name.

The car pulled away and I raised my wrist to look at the clock. It was almost nine. That would give me time to get to school.

- Do you remember our appointment today? - Damien said and I stared at him. He was also looking at his watch.
