Chapter 29 Terrifying Footsteps

Flora finally woke up completely from the disturbance and slowly opened her eyes after moving her body. Upon waking up, she was greeted by Robin's joyful face and Oliver's gentle handsome face. Her heart trembled, she hadn't died?!

The wound on her hand throbbed with a piercing pain, and she couldn't move at all, just lying stiffly on the bed. She glanced around the large bedroom and realized she was lying in Maxwell's bed. Among the sheets, there was a lingering masculine scent that belonged to him!

Oliver leaned down and stared at her up close, his deep gaze revealing a hint of displeasure. He asked, "Why did you do this? Why did you attempt suicide?"

Flora was taken aback, meeting his eyes, and with great difficulty, she replied, "Because I thought death was better than being alive. I'd rather die."

"Do you think this is worth it?" Oliver raised his displeased tone a few notches, dissatisfied with her response!
