Aubrey parked the car in the front of a large hall, mother and child alighted from the car. Aubrey was clutching her bag while Sadie was clutching a small purse. They sauntered towards the direction of the pithead. On the wall of the building was an inscription “Master Multipurpose Hall.”

When Aubrey and Sadie got into the hall, they could see a great crowd of people. The hall was filled with people so that it would be difficult for one to pick up his money when it falls on the floor by mistake. Sadie and Aubrey were ushered to two seats. “Mum, you didn’t wear a white shirt on a black skirt,” Sadie said when mother and child were about to sit down. “Aubrey sat and said, “ You didn’t tell me that the audience are to put on a white shirt and a black trouser or skirt as the case may be,” Aubrey said as she gazed at Sadie’s face.

“It escaped my memory, mum, though it was stated on the invitation card. I am sorry, mum,” Sadie said.
