Saturday evening, 31st May
Kavinsky sat on the sofa in the sitting room while his Mom cooked in the kitchen.
A knock sounded on the door and he got up to check who was at the door. He opened the door and greeted me calmly.
"Welcome, Dad", he said as Mr. Mark walked in nodding his head at his son. Kavinsky shut the door behind them and took his seat back on the sofa, picking up his phone and continuing to play his game
Mrs. Mark came out of the kitchen and greeted her husband
"How was work?", she asked collecting his briefcase
"It was fine but stressful", he replied with a smile
"Sorry", she answered and he nodded.
"Dinner is ready!", she said out loud so Kavinsky would hear as well.
"I will go and shower first", Mr. Mark said ascending the stairs
"Mmm", she replied to no one in particular
Mrs. Mark dished everyone's food and soon Kavinsky's Dad arrived in a white shirt and black trousers.
"Honey, food is ready!", Mrs. Mark called out of Kavinsky.
"Am almost done with this game", he said facing his phone.
Mr. and Mrs. Mark ate their food as they gist about unknown things.
"I lose again!", Kavinsky shouted and they faced him before turning back to their food.
"Should I teach you how to play?", Mr. Mark asked facing him back
Kavinsky laughed continuously at his statement. He looked up only to meet the sharp gazing eyes of his parents.
"I don't seem to understand what's funny", his Mom murmured, sipping her water slowly.
"He said he wants to teach me how to play", Kavinsky repeated, pulling his black chair. He took his seat across from his mother.
"What's wrong with that?", Mr. Mark asked with surprise laced in his tone.
"It's a technological and an advanced game, not the outdated ones, Dad", Kavinsky tried to explain without sounding rude but he ended up smirking at the end.
"So?", his father asked.
"Don't worry about it Dad", Kavinsky replied quietly.
"You think I won't know how to play?", his father asked with a scoff
"Of course, you know how to play it. I am sure you know how to play it. You've played it a lot of times before!", he replied sarcastically, digging his sandwich into his mouth.
Mrs. Mark smiled a bit, understanding her son's naughty behavior.
"Naughty kid", Mr. Mark said, knocking Kavinsky on the head and they all laughed.
The laugh died down a little moment after.
"I hope you did not forget an injection in someone else's stomach", Kavinsky said playfully
"Nope, your dad is trained and educated", Mr. Mark said praising himself.
"I should probably just open a boutique as well", Kavinsky's Mom said, feeling all jealous that her husband always has something to say about his place of work.
"Anytime you are ready, sweetheart", Kavinsky's Dad replied, giving her a peck on the back of her hand.
She smiled and Kavinsky looked up at them.
"My birthday is coming soon, you guys mustn't forget that", he said, rolling his eyes at their love actions.
"Trust me, honey', Kavinsky's mom replied holding his hand.
"Trust us both, son", Kavinsky's Dad corrected.
"Okay", Kavinsky replied and continued to eat his meal.
They finished eating and Kavinsky stood up from his seat.
"Good night", he greeted.
"You are sleeping early today?", his mom asked in surprise.
"No, I have things to do upstairs and I might not come back downstairs any longer today", he explained.
"I am exhausted as well", Mr. Mark admitted stretching his arms widely to exercise them.
Kavinsky walked up the stairs and locked his bedroom door behind him. He walked to his study desk and turned on his laptop. He logged in on the internet and began his research.
Hours passed and he could not get a satisfying answer on his school old project.
"Damn!", he shouted in frustration and hit his laptop button.
The cool night breeze blew in through his window and he stood up to close the window.
He pulled the window blinds nonchalantly. His eyes caught the image of the lady who had hit him in the face with the door earlier before the blinds closed completely.
He remained there for a while, staring at the window blinds before opening them back slowly.
She was there, looking out of her window, at the sky.
He looked at her face and a smile crept onto his face. She looks so beautiful.
"When did he start to smile at some random girl's face?", he thought slapping himself on the cheeks before looking back out.
She focused on the blue cloudy sky like it were the only thing in the world. He looked closer at her face and even he could see the pain in her brown eyes.
He continued to look at her until he shook in fear and stuck his head and moved his body back in when she
"Arghh!", screamed at the top of her voice
"What's wrong with her?", he thought before looking back out in curiosity.
His blue eyes met her brown ones and they remained for a little while before she reluctantly closed her window shut. He blinked after he had restrained himself from blinking for only goodness knows how long.
"That girl sure is something", he said out loud before walking to his bed.
He crashed on it and sighed
"She is an attractive witch", he thought.
"But she is cute as well", he added and smiled foolishly
. . .
The next morning,
Kavinsky got up from his bed and walked to the bathroom, yawning continuously. He had a brief shower and brushed his teeth.
"Throw the trash bag in the trash can outside", his mom said to him immediately after he got downstairs.
She walked up the stairs after she said that and Kavinsky watched her as she walked away
"Yeah, happy new month to you too", he said to no one and walked to the kitchen slowly.
He carried the trash bag from the kitchen and walked out to the lawn.
He threw the tror bag in the dark green trash can outside the lawn, beside the road, and walked in back.
He walked back to his room and packed his dirty clothes, scratched that, almost all his clothes into the laundry basket, and exited the room.
"You did not go to the dry cleaning yesterday?", his mom asked as he got out of his room. She jumped out of her room as well.
He raised the laundry up to show that, obviously, he did He walked down the stairs with a sigh.
"Stupid stairs', he thought.
"Happy new month, son", he heard his mom say from behind him
He ignored her and thought.
"Payback time"
He walked out of the house with his huge pile of dirty clothes in the laundry basket and waited for a cab.
~
"Where are you heading to?", Kaylee's dad asked as she walked to the door.
"I need fresh air", she replied coldly opening the door.
She wore a blue woven c and back leather pants. It was like she knew it would be that cozy outside.
Kavinsky l his side and saw her sit down on the stairs of her house. She took out a pencil and started to use it on the book she held.
"Probably designs? Craft? Drawings?", he asked himself, trying to figure out what she might be doing. A cab stopped in front of him and he got in quickly.
"Dry cleaning company", he said to the cab driver
The car started moving and he looked at her innocent face as his car drove past her.
"She looks so-- innocent", he thought.

Kavinsky got down from the cab and carried his laundry basket along with him. He entered the waiting room and went directly to the receptionist behind the marble cabinet. She was typing something away on her computer when he got there. He knocked twice on the cabinet to gain her attention. Tthe he receptionist looked up and grinned immediately she saw who it was. "Kavinsky", she called out with a smile plastered to her face and stood up from her seat. "Hi, am here to drop some clothes", he said, going straight to the point. "Oh!", she said sharply, somewhat disappointed. "But of course, you are in a dry cleaning company, so-", she added immediately and trailed off . "Yeah, obviously", Kavinsky replied nonchalantly. "Pass it here, I will make the arrangements quickly", she said beckoning at
June 1st, Sunday night Kavinsky finally completed his project after having dinner with his father and mother. His parents had retired to bed early while he stayed a little while more in the living room, playing video games. "I want to sharpen my skills in this new video game 'cause I know I desperately need to before Harry learns about it", he had told his mom when she asked why he wasn't going to bed early. "Alright but go to bed early, you know you have to go to school tomorrow", his mother had said. He had rolled his eyes at the moment as he muttered. "I am not a kid" His mother had heard him and she replied to him while going up the stairs; "I know but you will always remain my kid" Kavinsky went to bed after he had mastered the game and played it for a few rounds. He got up from bed when he remembered the brunette colored hair girl who lived just next door. He couldn't pinpoint the actual deal with this girl but he knew he was attracted to her. He stood up and walked
Vanessa pulled Kavinsky up when she saw that he was not intending to stand up, away from this lowly-looking girl. "She can do it herself", Vanessa said with a shrug and rolled her eyes. Kaylee got up and Stiles asked from beside her if she was okay. "I am fine", she replied before an announcement was made all over the school speakers. "Kaylee Blaine, please report to the principal's office. Kaylee Blaine, please report to the principal's office", the announcement was made twice before it stopped and only the echo from the announcement lingered against the school walls. "Let me accompany you there", Stiles offered calmly "No, it's fine. I can go myself", she said and turned to leave. She soon arrived at the Principal's door and knocked three times on it. "Come in", Mr. Bull, the principal's voice was heard from the other side of the door. Kaylee pressed down the door handle and walked in. She met Mr. Bull sitting behind his table having coffee while he is checking some paper h
"Vanessa Anderson. She comes from an affluent family. Her father is running for the post of commissioner. His campaign stickers are all over town. And also, he donates a lot of money to this school, so-", Anna replied and shrugged "That does not give her the right to act like that in the school", Kaylee protested with a frown. "Everyone knows that Kaylee", Anna told her and continued eating her food "Wait a minute, don't tell me you are planning something against her", Anna said all of a sudden, widening her eyes for emphasis. "Of course not! Why would I?", Kaylee replied and faked a laugh "Okay, cause I would advise you not to. You don't want to get yourself meddled in Vanessa's business. Just keep ignoring her and you would be fine", Anna advised her "I told you I wasn't", Kaylee said sharply 'The students in this school sound dumb', Kaylee thought and continued eating * * * Wednesday afternoon, June 4 At Seattle high school, The bell was rung to notify all students f
Kavinsky ran downstairs and met his Dad alive and well. He checked around for any cut or injury on his body and saw none. He looked only at his father, oblivious to what stood beside his father. All he cared about at that moment was his father. He stood there in anger. He realized he had been tricked but why?? His mother laughed and laughed till her cheeks hurt. "You should have seen the way he ran, honey", she said in between laughs and went to stand beside her husband. "What did you say to him?", Mr. Mark asked. He was curious to know what would make his son run down the stairs like that. "That you got into an accident", Mrs. Mark said and smiled. "An accident? Me?", Mr. Mark asked in shock. "Why would you even think of saying that?", he asked in disappointment. "Uh oh!", Mrs. Mark realized it wasn't a funny matter anymore and her laughter died down. "I was just-", she started but was cut off by Kavinsky's loud voice. She secretly thanked God that Kavinsky had chosen that t
Kaylee could not believe her father had just said that. "Dad?", she called out in disbelief. "It's much faster, honey. I won't have to", Kaylee cut her father short rudely by walking towards Kavinsky's house. Mr. Blaine just heaved a sigh of defeat. "I will be taking my leave now sir", Kavinsky said with a bow and went after Kaylee. Mr. Blaine smiled in the direction of Kaylee and Kavinsky. It felt good to see that his daughter was making friends already. He unlocked the car and entered the driver's seat. Laura too hopped into the passenger seat, beside her father and he drove out of their front porch. Kaylee sat in the front passenger seat waiting for Kavinsky to come in. She was angry at the way her father had traded her away to some guy he just met but she wasn't all that angry. Kavinsky went into the car as well and put in the key to start the engine. "Do you have a driver's license?", Kaylee asked immediately as he put the key into its hole. "Yeah, trust me", Kavinsky repl
The next morning, Kaylee woke up very early to arrive at school quickly. She had a bath and dressed up. After she was done, she picked up her earphone and her phone before carrying her backpack. She arranged all her utensils in her bag the way she could before dumping her phone and earphone in it as well. Kaylee walked down the stairs and looked around the dining room. It was really quiet. Mr. Blaine and Laura have not woken up yet. Kaylee's walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. She brought out a nylon of slice bread from the fridge and took some jam too. Kaylee sat in front of the kitchen cabinet. She opened the nylon of slice bread and picked out some of the slices. She put the jam on it as she ate. After eating for a while, Kaylee stood up and poured herself a glass of pineapple juice from the fridge. After eating breakfast, Kaylee stood up and picked up her backpack again before hanging it on her shoulder. She carried the plates to the kitchen and washed the plate s
Kaylee was shocked to see Kavinsky in her home. Kavinsky saw the shocked expression on her face as well and he smirked in achievement. "What are you doing here?", it was time for Kaylee to speak up "Did you forget about that restaurant we said we were going to?", Kavinsky replied with the sweetest smile on his face. He knew it would be weird in front of everyone if he said he had just come to pick up Kaylee without even her consent. Not to talk of the fact that her only parent is a Dad, not even Mom. Mm mm, he would not like to play with fire. Kavinsky had not expected to meet Kaylee's Dad at home. All he planned for was for him to convince Kaylee to go with him to the restaurant, they needed to agree on some things that he thinks they should agree on. "Oh. You should go and dress up quickly then Kaylee", Mr. Blaine said and Kavinsky had a grin on his face. His plan was going smoothly. "Why would I go and dress up?", Kaylee protested with a frown on her face. "You can't stand
